The Emergency Department is open 24/7 and ready to care for patients with serious health concerns. 


We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation. We want to ensure everyone's safety and well-being. We continue to serve the urgent health care needs of our communities through Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital.  We are following all procedures as directed by Public Health and the Ministry of Health.

Things are changing quickly so please visit the website often for ongoing updates.


Masks are required in all patient care areas of the hospitals and in the elevators.  Masks will continue to be available at the entrances.

To reduce the spread of germs including the flu and COVID-19, remember to:

  •  Wash your hands often with soap and water, or use hand sanitizer 
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth unless you have just cleaned your hands
  • Cover your cough and sneeze with a tissue or into your arm, not your hand
  • Wear a mask when indoors in public places and when physical distancing is difficult.
  • Stay home if you are sick
