What Do We Do?
The Auxiliary provides a wide variety of services, adjusting our activities to best fit the needs of the patients and staff at CPDMH.
Currently we have members helping out in the following areas and programs:
Volunteers greet patients and visitors and provide information and directions.
Volunteers help make patients comfortable, change beds, keep the area tidy and help out with other related duties. The hours are 9 to 12 from Monday to Friday.
They are back! Volunteers act as a liaison between the Emergency Department and patients, keeping them informed of wait times. Volunteers in this area provide an extra set of hands to staff and patients alike in stressful situations.
Evening Nourishment Program
Volunteers provide evening snacks and a friendly word to inpatients who may be feeling lonely and anxious.
Specially trained volunteers assist in feeding in-patients who need help at mealtime, allowing nursing staff to concentrate on medical activities.
Volunteers work in various areas of the hospital such as Telemedicine, Medical Records, Pharmacy, and Human Resources, and provide support to the Senior Executive Team.
Community Outreach Activities
Volunteers help organize community events such as the Health Fest which brings together various health services organizations to provide information to the public.
The Gift Shop
Volunteers work regular shifts in our lobby Gift Shop.
Volunteers work outside of the hospital to raise funds for hospital equipment.
If you are interested in getting involved in helping with any of these programs - either as an auxiliary member or community volunteer - please contact us.
