Heritage Community Fitness Centre Hosting Girls Night In on Saturday March 6.

On Saturday March 6, Heritage Fitness will be hosting 'Girls Night In' from 7:30 pm - 10pm. The evening will feature both fun and informative events.
Tickets are $12 each and are available at the Foundation Office (613-257-2200 856) and Heritage Fitness (613-253-2112). The first 25 tickets sold will receive a free goodie-bag the night of the event.

The Arden Trio will be Hosting an Afternoon of Classical Music on Sunday, March 7th

Enjoy an afternoon of classical music with "The Arden Trio", featuring Tony Stuart (clarinet), Richard Hoenich (bassoon), and Valerie Leavitt (piano). The concert is on Sunday, March 7th at 3:00 pm, at Zion-Memorial United Church in Carleton Place.
Featuring works for clarinet, bassoon, and piano by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Brahms, the concert is a fundraiser for the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital. Tickets are $10 per person, and are available at Appleton Gift & Basket (65 Mill Street in downtown Almonte), or at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Carleton Place.
Tony Stuart (clarinet) is a former professional musician with the Canadian Armed Forces, plays clarinets and saxophones with the Symphonium Orchestra, and is currently the Music Director at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Carleton Place.
Richard Hoenich (bassoon) served as Principal Bassoon and Associate Conductor with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and recently retired as Head of Conducting at the New England Conservatory in Boston.
Valerie Leavitt (piano) is well-known as a piano teacher and performer in the Perth area.
Zion-Memorial United Church is located at 37 Franklin Street in Carleton Place (right beside the library). Once again, show time is 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 7, 2010. |

3rd Annual Get Active! Community Fitness Challenge scheduled for April 14th

The Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH) Foundation is pleased to announce that the 3rd Annual Get Active! Community Fitness Challenge is scheduled for Wednesday April 14, 2010. The event will last throughout the day and will once again be hosted by the Heritage Community Fitness Centre.
The event consists of teams of five who are required to collect pledges totaling $250 per team or $50 per person. On the day of the event, the teams arrive during a predetermined time slot and each team member will spend 10 minutes on a treadmill, elliptical trainer, or stationary bike. The event will offer prizes for the most funds raised, most calories burned, most spirited team etc. as well as random prize draws throughout the day.
Teams must pre-register for the event by e-mailing a team name and contact member as well as list of team members to ctroy@carletonplacehosp.com. Team names and participants will then be added to the Foundation’s online donation page allowing participants to collect pledges through the Foundation’s website at www.carletonplacehospital.ca. Participants also have the option of collecting pledges through the traditional sign up sheet. Team registration and pledge forms can be found on the Foundation’s website and, once completed, can be dropped off at Heritage Fitness or the Foundation Office.
