River of Life

The River of Life donor recognition wall mural is a major fundraising project organized by the MHAuxiliary, Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital. Funds raised through this endeavour will be used to support new and ongoing hospital programs and purchase essential equipment, all of which will increase the comfort and quality of care for all hospital users. Your $15,855.00 support for the year 2008 has helped the Auxiliary meet its commitment to the Hospital for the new cauterizing machine.

The River of Life depicts the beauty of our rural home, part of what makes our lives special. The display will recognize individuals, businesses, and community organizations by having their names' incorporated into the mural on brass plaques. The plaques form part of the elements such as leaves of a tree, ducks, geese, bulrushes, river stones that adorn the Mississippi River and lie below Morphy Falls and the Town Hall.

The River of Life will forever be displayed at the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital.

How to Contribute

All residents, including families, friends, staff, and supporters of the MHAuxiliary, Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital are invited to become part of a legacy of caring for the people of Carleton Place & District.

Individuals can remember or honour a special person or offer thanks to the hospital while making a difference in their home and community.

Corporations can have a visible impact on the quality of hospital care and help make the community a better place to live.

Community Organizations can be recognized for their contribution and play an important role in helping people.

About the Hospital

The Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital is a fully accredited hospital and provides high quality, cost effective medical in-patient, 24-hour emergency, ambulatory care services and day surgery programs to the residents of Carleton Place and surrounding communities.

The vision of the hospital is to be the community's access place to high quality health care 24 hours a day.

About the Auxiliary

As of 2008, the MHAuxiliary has been supporting the Carleton Place & District Memorial hospital for 55 years. Our dedicated volunteers are the helping hands that support the hospital as it strives to reach the highest possible standards of patient care.

Through our numerous fundraising events we raise money to purchase essential hospital equipment and support new and ongoing hospital programs.

Our volunteer members provide services in various hospital departments including information/reception, laboratory services, medical records, physiotherapy, feeding program, decorating and many other areas as requested by the hospital personnel. The MHAuxiliary operates the Gift Shoppe and a community HELPP lottery fundraising program.
